Video Editing

Before you can use your video on the Internet to market your store you need to do some editing to it, but don’t worry you don’t have to go out and spend a lot of money with a professional video editor or buy expensive computers and software.  The computer you have is more than adequate.  The computer you use to collect e-mail on is more powerful than the computers George Lucas used to create the first Star War movie or Steven Spielberg used on ET.  We’re not out to create the next Hollywood block buster, so don’t worry about having to buy a new computer, what you have will be just fine. 

However what you do need is some video editing software.  Your camcorder probably came with some editing software that will accomplish some simple edits, however, I recommend Adobe video editing softwares and Internet 4 Jewelers is an Authorized Adobe Affiliate.

If you want to move-up to a more robust editing software I recommend Adobe’s Premier Elements.

For those of you that want more, I recommend Adobe’s Premier Pro.  This is what I use to edit all the training videos for Bench Media and the Bench Jewelers Television Network.  Unless you want to try to get into the Independent Film Industry or make it as a Hollywood video editor, you will not need anything more than this.  More professional video businesses that create wedding and other event videos and corporate training videos use Adobe Premier Pro than any other software.

If you want to make you videos into a DVD there is really only one software that makes truly professional looking DVDs and that is Adobe’s Encore.  You do not need this software if you are only going to use your videos on the Internet.  But if you want to make your videos into a DVD to give to customers or send out as a promotion then this is the software you need.  You can create your DVD menus in Encore or for more options and a more professional look you can create your menus in Photo Shop and import them into Encore.  You can buy Encore as part of Creative Suite 4 Master Collection.
